Over the summer my work toured the three Mettricks cafes in Southampton as part of the unit11studios Summer Salon 2016 exhibition.
At the private view on the 09 of September 2016, I had lovely discussions and some great feedback on my work.
One gentlemen pointed out that my work is a great medium to communicate science as well as medical issues to children as well as adults. One of my pieces spoke to him directly as one of his children had recently been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease. He had struggled to talk to his young child in a simple way about the disease. This piece explained touched on autoimmunity.
I was very pleased that my work could help people. It encouraged me to push my ideas forward and apply for public engagement funding.
